About the Event

INTRODUCTION

LbE Hawaii is seeking leaders to support this program occurring on Oahu.  We prefer that leaders are available for ALL 3 days, however if you are only available for one or two days, that is fine too. For the days you participate in, you MUST be available throughout the entirety (start time to end time) of the day in order to participate. 

 

SELECTION

LbE Hawaii will contact registrants via email ASAP. Selected leaders must verify their availability and ability to do the program(s) to be considered to work in the program. 

 

ACTIVITY

There are FOUR different fieldwork courses. You will be assigned to either: Beach Cleanup, Lo'i Kalo, Bishop Museum, or Invasive Species Removal at Waimea Valley

PROGRAM DATE & TIMES

Tuesday, 1/17 - 7:15 AM ~ 4:30 PM (some leaders will report at 8:15 AM)

REPORTING LOCATION

Tuesday, 17 Waikiki

COMPENSATION

  • $14.50 / hr
  • Lunch
  • Admission to all site visits and activities
  • Chartered bus transportation to all site visits (must provide own transportation to meet up location and return trip home, daily)

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the US, Individuals capable of working in the U.S. All registrants will be required to fill out a I-9 form
  • Available for the first and third days and for the full duration from beginning to end. Applicants available on the second day will be given first consideration.
  • Able to arrive on time!! to the reporting location/time
  • Available for a mandatory online (paid) orientation (date/time TBA)
  • Young adults who are current or recently graduated college students
  • Act as a group leader responsible for 7~8 JHS/HS students from Japan
  • Speak in English ONLY (no Japanese)
  • Support your group in preparing and understanding concepts of the program activities
  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and happiness of your group
  • Communicate well with the Program Manager / Support Staff using the SLACK APP
