EVENT: Community Service at Waimea Valley with Team LBE

WHAT TO EXPECT: LbE Hawaii signed up to have a "team" to work alongside other individuals from the community at the beautiful Waimea Valley on the North Shore. This is a service learning volunteer project that may consist of Weeding, Garden Cleanups, maintenance of cultural sites and Invasive species control throughout the valley. The event will conclude with lunch (provided by LbE) as well as optional FREE cultural activity. Admission to the valley is then FREE for the rest of the day for you to enjoy the gardens, cultural site, and yes, even the beautiful waterfall!

WHY WE ARE DOING THIS: LbE Hawaii had a successful community service event in last week Saturday's (7/11) islandwide beach cleanup, in which we contributed towards 600 POUNDS of trash pickup at the Diamond Head Beach Park site. We would like to continue this great momentum of community service, malama, and aloha. This is also a great opportunity to talk story with LbE Leaders with company updates and further community service opportunities.

WHO CAN REGISTER: LbE Hawaii Team Members & Guests - you will need to register to attend this FREE event. You are welcome to invite other guests but they must register as well. Please have them fill out their OWN registration sheet. They must indicate your name on their registration sheet so we know their affiliation to LbE. UPDATE: due to the overwhelming response from LBE members, we will need to close this event to guests. The amount of peoplel that attends this event are limited due to COVID-19 group size gatherings.

SELECTION: Because there are limited slots for LbE's team, we may need to make a selection on who will be able to attend. In general, we will also make selections on a first-come-first-served basis or will make a preference on more active Leaders or Leaders who have an interest in sustainability. Selection results will be made almost instantly after registering, but will be determined no later than Friday, July 17th, 12PM, in which registration will close.
